Nested in the Laugarais’ heart, the holiday centre “Les Aillos” is located nearby the small town of Caraman, from where many walks and bicycle rides will allow you to discover the charm of our region and the numerous activities. HERE ARE SOME VISITS WE ADVICE YOU…
	Caraman village (a mile from Les Aillos) The origin of the word Caraman was “cara” for face and “man” for hand. Located 17 miles far from Toulouse, on the waterway of La Saune and Seillone. Caraman, with its little stores, its renoun farmer’s market on Thursdays, its magnificient lake, l’Orme Blanc, Caraman is characteristic of the region picturesque charm. > Read more

	Lauragais lakes There are, in the Lauragais, many lakes and dams which care for the drinking water distribution, the irrigation of the Canal du Midi, and/or aquatic activities. Fishing is ractised in all those areas, as well as many walks in which you won t miss to discover the beauty of the landscape and the wildlife.
Canal du Midi (about an hour from les Aillos) You can have a walk or a bicycle ride on the Canal bank or even take the boat and enjoy the ride…
	The Black Mountain (La Montagne Noire) It presents 2 very different faces: the north side, steep, covered with dark forests of oaktrees and firtrees. The south side which presents similarity to the mediterranean landscape, covered with chestnut trees, olive trees and very dry areas, yet it’s whereall the rivers of the area flow. Its higher point is the Nore peakk, at 4000 feet. The Black Mountain is classified natural and protected park the Haut-Languedoc region.
Castelnau-de-Montmiral (about an hour from les Aillos) Classified among the most beautiful village of France. Overhanging the Vere valley, Castelneau de Montmiral is located in the heart of the Gaillac vineyard. This bastide was built by Raymond VII, count of Toulouse. In its church, lodges the croos of the Armagnc counts, which adorned of 310 gems.
	La Cité de Carcassonne (52 miles from les Aillos) This town is surrounded by thick ramparts since the Middle Age. According to the occitane legend, the town was named after the sarrasin princess “Dame Carcasse”.
Gastronomy Here, in the Lauragais, you are in the crib of the famous and traditional dish: Cassoulet. In many places, you can enjoy the richness of the french culinary treasures : Confit, roasted duck breast, foie gras, Toulouse sausage and, of course, the Toulousan Cassoulet. Many good produces which would marry very well with the wine of the languedoc region.
